Events in Exeter From 6th April – 12th April 2026

You can find a range of events across Exeter this week, reflecting both civic traditions and community life. On Saturday afternoon, children aged 4 to 10 can join a storytime session at Exeter Central Library, where themes follow seasonal changes and environmental awareness, part of the local authority's outreach priorities.

For spoken word, there’s an open mic night on Thursday evening hosted by The Word Centre near Cathedral Green, featuring poets whose work references Roman-era archaeology found beneath city streets and modern urban challenges like rough sleeping.

Music offerings include a soul set at Gurney Street Pub every Friday. On Saturday, a free performance of early English folk tunes takes place in part of the original 1st-century wall, the oldest surviving structure in Exeter.
